, waterfall

– Nick Moncrieff

All I want to know,
is how to fall asleep,
and wake up in 2004,
in a park,

in [city],
in [suburb, maybe closer to heart than body]

at a party,
in the rain,
the floods,

(so suddenly)

if anyone was here, they are now gone.

I run home to my parents at the door waiting.
They were so worried.
I am so young.

I hear them through the walls,
watching their film on videotape,
and I think,
I’ll dream I’m in a waterfall.
I’ll dream my head fell off,
and it will be okay:
I’m home.
