Scribner will close its $4 billion acquisition of the foundry company Doubleday Publishing.
The deal will close Scribner’s acquisition of Doubledat’s business, according a news release.
The news release does not specify the value of the deal, but the combined company will have a combined revenue of $4 million to $5 million a year.
Doubleday was acquired by a $3 billion takeover offer by publisher Penguin Random House in 2017, but that deal fell through when the publisher opted out of a $5 billion deal to acquire rival HarperCollins, according in a statement from the publisher.
Doubles, founded in 1986, is a publishing company that has sold thousands of titles, including books by Margaret Atwood, Caitlin Moran, Margaret Atterbury, Naomi Klein, Naomi Wolf and James Patterson.
